Lockdown and Covid-19 hit everyone hard, but young people have found it especially difficult, with fewer opportunities to enter the world of work. In a single day, Arjun Global, partnered with the DWP, as official gateway providers for the Kickstart Scheme, helped twenty young people find employment. By joining with Kickstart, Arjun Global is able to help young people gain experience, and oversee their entry into a post-lockdown job market.

Over 40 businesses attended the Kickstart recruitment convention at the Emirates Stadium on the 8th of September – including Google’s CFO, Ruth Porat – conducting face to face interviews, and looking to hire impressive young talent. Arjun Global’s Director, Hemal Randerwala, met with the Minister for Employment, Mims Davies, who opened the event, to celebrate this new step for so many 16 to 24 year olds. Davies said, “It was great seeing so many young Londoners get involved and I was very impressed with their real determination to use our Kickstart Scheme to help them get their foot on the ladder.”

The Kickstart Scheme was set up to help under-25’s build up their workplace skills, whilst backing start-ups and small businesses, with government funding, to employ these promising young individuals. Arjun Global Ltd., a multinational recruitment agency for permanent and freelance positions, is dedicated to seeing young people achieve their potential, and have small businesses find the right candidates to help them grow. Since partnering with the DWP, Arjun Global has acted as a gateway for over 300 Kickstart Scheme applications and offered bright youngsters a firm foundation to begin their careers.

Arjun Global’s Director noted, “We are delighted to have partnered with the DWP to deliver the Kickstart Scheme. It has been a resounding success for the youth and businesses hit hard by the pandemic.” Through Arjun Global’s help, some businesses have secured Kickstart grants of more than £10,000 a month. The Kickstart Scheme lasts until December 2021, so start-ups and small businesses have 3 months left to apply via Arjun Global.
